Free School Meals for KS1

Free Hot Meals for KS1 Children from September 2014

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (KS1) will be entitled to receive a FREE hot school meal on a daily basis from this September 2014.  This provision follows new guidance from the Government. Parents will still need to order meals to benefit from this by either ordering online or via the school office. See our School Meals website page.

BPS fully supports this initiative and are busy planning ahead for the changes that this will involve.  We need to ensure that we have enough staff and a newly adapted kitchen to cope with the 180 potential meals for KS1.

From September we will become a “cook chill” school which means we will be cooking food on site (currently it arrives already cooked).
