The Sensory Garden

We are incredibly lucky to have a fantastic new ‘Sensory Garden’ in our playground.

This has been designed with input from pupils and staff to enhance the experiences we offer. It will provide a tranquil and fragrant place to spend a quiet moment.

Mike Gale and Andy Brown have taken on creating this superb place and are nearing completion. The children are watching eagerly as fish and snails arrive for the pond and new scented planting is bedded in.

The school grounds are lovingly cared for by Mike and reflect his love of wood and other natural resources.

Apples from the grounds were tasted and shared amongst children and staff in the first week back as a tasty break time treat.

The Green Team have helped to design a garden bench.

The Sensory Garden was officially opened by Mike Carter, the Chair of Governors on the 27th February 2012.
